The team’s chartered plane had to return to Kansas after the landing gear malfunctioned shortly after takeoff, according to the Associated Press. The issue, apparently, was a broken sensor in the landing gear — not anything structural that put the plane or the team in any danger, a school spokesman said.

Flight mechanics were working to fix the plane on Wednesday morning and the Shockers should be back in the skies within a few hours.
